How do I communicate with board members? What is the board protocol for responding to citizen Input?

Posted by:

The school board represents the community; therefore it needs to respect input from the community. The school board wants to be in touch with the community and know what is important to its members. Community members need to feel they are being listened to and heard. The school board wants to be consistent in the way it responds to community concerns. For more information about school board protocol guidelines, please refer to Responding to Community/Staff Concerns or Complaints from the SHUSD Governance Handbook.

SHUSD protocol states that the Board president responds to correspondence on behalf of the board. It is important for community members to know that no one board member holds any individual authority to act or speak for the entire board. Click here to read more.
