Adopt A School Napa County

PRESS RELEASE

Napa, CA – With the start of the new school year a couple days away, Adopt A School Napa invites schools and their business partners to come together and write their stories of inspiration for the Annual Partnership of the Year Award.

“Many schools in Napa County have wonderful partners in the community.  The real world experience that businesses bring to education inspires students and makes learning fun. The Partnership of the Year Award will celebrate the many ways businesses are making a positive impact on students and the community.” says Adopt A School Napa program coordinator Karen Zimolzak.

The Partnership of the Year Award recognizes the importance of the business-education partnership in Napa County. Thanks to a generous donation from The Johnny Miller Champ Foundation, each of the three award winners will receive $2,000 to support their partnership.

“It is inspiring to learn of Napa businesses willing to donate their time and effort to cultivate the education of local students.  It is this type of selfless initiative that The Johnny Miller Champ Foundation strives to promote.” says Andy Miller,

The deadline for 2016 Partnership of the Year Award submissions is September 30th. More information can be found on Adopt A School Napa’s recently launched website.

Last fall, the Partnership of the Year Award was awarded to Vichy Elementary School and Clos du Val Wines for their Adopt-A-Vine program.

“Vineyards make wonderful classrooms,” says Clos Du Val president and CEO Steve Tamburelli, who designed the Adopt-a-Vine program. “This is a wonderful chance to show these students real-world applications to concepts they are learning in the classroom.” Their program brings classroom concepts to life for Vichy's 4th Graders and inspires excitement for learning that will likely continue for many years to come.

Many businesses in Napa County have chosen to give back to the community by supporting education. Adopt A School Napa is happy to recognize all the successful partnerships and encourage other businesses to make a difference and inspire the next generation.
