St. Helena Unified School District trustee Shawn Herwick Moura is a St. Helena High School graduate from 1992. She has Bachelor of Science degrees in Hydrology, Environmental Science and a minor in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She later attained a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Miami. 

After college, she worked at Franklin Templeton Investment Company in San Mateo, CA as a Software Development Business Analyst.  During her tenure at this job, she relocated to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where she began working for Citrix Systems, leading global software implementation projects.

Shawn has four children and has always been engaged with their schools serving as the President of the School Advisory Committee (SAC) for her children’s elementary schools in Florida.  Shawn and her family relocated to St. Helena in 2018, and her four children attended all of St. Helena’s four school sites. (Kaylee class of  2022, Aubrey class of 2024, Larsen class of 2026, and Ashlyn class of 2029)  

Shawn was an AVID tutor for St. Helena High School. Her dedication to our public schools includes the following roles: Parent Group board and grade level representative, The St. Helena Public School Foundation, the District Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) subcommittee, the District Business Operations subcommittee, the District Technology Innovation and Curriculum subcommittee, and the District Equity & Climate subcommittee.

As a self-proclaimed life-long learner, Shawn is excited to dedicate her time as a board member to help guide St. Helena Unified School District in its continued focus on maintaining a skilled and engaged staff who provide the best education and school climate for our students.
